variables of interest (Army Communications and Electronics Command)
Research on telephone pole-climbing accidents. Developed a
model of accident causation validated by hundreds of accident reports
and survey responses. Described the types of accidents that occurred
while pole climbing in terms of commonalties among precipitating actions.
Defined accident causation for different accident types from the associated
predisposing factors. Determined male-female differences among accident
types and predisposing conditions, Defined countermeasures likely
