The training system consists of a web-based, interactive series of training modules designed to promote critical thinking skills. The system is based on a process model of critical thinking skills and can be adapted for training critical thinking skills in a variety of domains. After developing a testable process model of critical thinking (CT) and identifying six classes of high-payoff CT skills for battle command, Anacapa designed, implemented, and tested a set of eight skill modules. These SCORM-compliant, web-hosted modules provide basic concept training, advanced training, contextual training, and performance-based exercises on eight CT skills, such as framing a message, avoiding biases, and extracting gist). The interactive training modules involve a state-of-the-art interplay of audio, video and text messages, interactive maps, tables, response option boxes, and dialog displays.
